Issues and overdue reminders
Two books can be borrowed at a time for a period of two weeks but are renewable. Overdue reminders are sent to individuals via Group tutors and to English teachers for classes. Letters are sent home as a last resort as we expect all pupils to take responsibility for themselves.
Code of Behaviour
This is modelled on the School’s Classroom Code and a poster outlining the expectations we have is displayed in the LRC.
The LRC web-based catalogue catalogue can be accessed from any computer. It provides information about resources and access to Personal Study and other reviews; website links are also being added.
We have a range of titles which are intended to interest and engage all levels of ability, junior, young adult and senior.
A range of texts is available to support the curriculum and personal interest.
A number of events are planned throughout the year. For example:
- Careers Convention in February
- Art Exhibition in June
- Author Events throughout the year
A careers drop-in clinic open to all pupils runs at lunch-time on Thursdays. Careers materials and prospectuses are available for consultation and there is a dedicated careers computer.
Senior pupils may use the LRC for private study, computer use and access to Study Support, Careers and UCAS materials.
An S3 and S4 Book Group runs at lunch-time on Thursdays.
Study Support passes are also given out to pupils for access to the LRC during their exam leave.
