Enterprise in education is about taking an enterprising approach to teaching and learning.
Enterprise encourages our pupils to learn and develop in a way that meets their needs and develops skills for learning, skills for life and skills for work.
By helping our pupils to prepare for the world of work, including self-employment, they are better equipped them to make an effective transition from education.
Examples of enterprise activities on offer at Portobello High School include:
- Annual Careers Convention held in February to coincide with pupils making course choices for entry to S3, S5 and S6.
- Business Education Christmas Party organised by S3 Business Management pupils for S1 pupils.
- S3 Business Management pupils participation in Stock market Challenge
- Work Experience for S4.
- Reportobello-school magazine written, published and marketed by pupils.
- Suspended timetable.
- Charity work.
