Pupils in S2 will follow the new Curriculum for Excellence.
Curriculum for Excellence takes a fresh approach to what, how and where our pupils learn. It aims to raise standards, improve knowledge and develop skills, while closing the gap between the lowest and highest performers.

The curriculum is delivered through learning in 8 curriculum areas:
- Expressive arts
- Health and wellbeing
- Religious and moral education
- Social studies
All staff have a responsibility to develop, reinforce and extend learning in the following areas.
New national qualifications are being developed to reflect the changes to the curriculum.
Opportunities for personalisation and choice are made available through the Enrichment courses which pupils study for 1 period per week. Examples of course on offer this session include: event management, engineering scrap heap challenge, theatrical performance skills and debating. Pupils choose two courses that they would like to follow to broaden the curriculum on offer or to further develop skills. The first course runs until November with the second course starting thereafter.
