To Parents / Carers of P7 Pupils of the Portobello Cluster Group Primaries
OPEN EVENING AT PORTOBELLO HIGH SCHOOL
THURSDAY, 17th SEPTEMBER 2015 (6:30 – 8:50 p.m)
It may seem very early in the new session to be thinking about the Transition programme for 2015 / 2016. Nevertheless, we feel that it is important to make this contact with our prospective parents / carers and pupils before schooling decisions have to be taken by you. My colleagues and I would like to extend a warm invitation to you and to your daughter / son to an Open Evening in the High School on the evening of Thursday, 17th September 2015, starting at 6:30 p.m. in the School Hall.
Our evening will start with a short musical performance from some of our pupils, followed by a short introductory session which will describe the liaison programme that we have developed with our associated primaries. There will also be an opportunity for you to visit a selection of our departments and see some of our pupils at work with their teachers. You should receive a copy of our School Handbook in December which will be issued through the Primary Schools. The school now has its own website which can be accessed at http://portobellohighschool.org.uk. This site contains a lot of information about the school and is updated regularly.
Another meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, 8th June 2015, when we will take a more detailed look at what Portobello High School has to offer to you and your daughter / son. Prior to that meeting, staff from the High School will visit the primaries to talk to the Primary 7 classes. In addition there will be regular contact with the staff of our associated Primary Schools.
