S3 Standard Grade Geography classes spent all their lessons last week outside in the sunshine!
Pupils were involved in finding out about their local area, tackling some simple gathering techniques in the field. Pupils completed a traffic and pedestrian count, a land use survey from the school to the beach and a shopping survey in the High Street. Pupils will also be completing a fieldsketch and environmental quality survey in their home area as a homework exercise.
This will help support our young people with the enquiry skills aspect of the course, which is worth 60% of their grade in the Standard Grade exam. We had perfect weather and pupils behaviour was excellent – well done everyone!
