On Friday 30th November, St Andrew’s Day, the first ever Edinburgh Inter-Schools History Quiz – The Wee History Quiz – took place. Portobello High School was represented by two stellar teams: “Still Game” and “The Greek Dragon Hunters”. After weeks of preparation and dedication, both teams put in solid performances on the day, with “Still Game” battling gallantly to ultimately come out on top with a commanding lead.
As a result of their success, “Still Game” will be awarded with the William Morrison Trophy and Portobello High can bask in the glory of being the first ever school to have its name engraved on the trophy. Mr Mackenzie, who reassured the teams of certain success in their darkest of moments, would like to express his massive congratulations and feelings of pride to all six pupils who took part and who are an amazing asset to their school.
“Still Game” consisted of Paul Still, Tijkla Metzger and Alexander Fraser.
“The Greek Dragon Hunters” consisted of Callum Musselwhite, Jack Ferguson and Gonda Metzger.
